About Us
Bake for Change!
We’re a student-led non-profit organization trying to spread our passion for baking while simultaneously raising money for charity. That’s why we started Benevolent Bakers. Our goal is to make baking easy for those who have always wanted to try, as well as offer new recipes for those looking for inspiration, all while helping towards a good cause!
We offer free recipes on our website that can be viewed here. We also offer kits for some of our recipes known as “Baked by Myself Boxes”, where we pre-measure ingredients and package them into boxes to create the experience of baking from scratch, without the hassle of buying all the ingredients.
Meet The Team
Leyla Roxas
Sponsorship Coordinator
Hey there :D! My name’s Leyla and I’m a sponsorship coordinator for Benevolent Bakers. Baking has always been a small hobby that I pursued from time to time, but it truly became a passion around 4 years ago when I dove into a deep rabbit hole of watching baking videos on Youtube. When I’m not making a mess in the kitchen, I like to watch anime, play video games, and listen to music. In the future I want to travel across the world with my friends (specifically Japan :]]).
Matthias Brummund
Sponsorship Coordinator
Hello. My name is Matthias and I am one of Benevolent Bakers’ sponsorship coordinators. I got into baking through both baking and watching the Food Network with my sister. I enjoy spending time outside, whether that is simply taking a walk or canoeing down a river. My favorite dessert is black forest cake, even though I'm not a huge fan of chocolate.
Bardya Bob
Sponsorship Coordinator
Hello! My name is Bardya and I am a sponsorship coordinator for Benevolent Bakers. I’ve been baking with my mom for as long as I can remember and I particularly enjoy baking different kinds of breads. In my free time I like to play soccer and basketball, with a little bit of ping-pong here and there. In the future I hope to make a positive difference in the world - one way or another.
Rotem Daniel
Marketing
Hey everyone! My name is Rotem and I am one of the marketing executives on the team. I started baking when I was 10 years old, it was something my friend and I would do together and it eventually turned into one of my favourite hobbies. I love baking because it’s a stress reliever and I find it so rewarding. My favourite things to bake are cupcakes, cookies, and cakes (especially because they can be decorated). Aside from baking I also enjoy visual arts, reading, watching Netflix, and travelling.
Victoria Long
Marketing
What's up, I'm Victoria and I am one of the Marketing executives. Baking has always been a hobby of mine since I was young and I will usually bake during my spare time. Being able to eat and share my creations with family and friends is always something to look forward to. Outside of baking, I'll be playing tennis, listening to music, on social media and picking up new skills like coding. For the future I would like to retire early and travel.
Elina Karyuk
Media Artist
Hallo, wie geht’s? My name’s Elina and I’m a media artist for the Benevolent Baker team. My love of baking started with watching my brother bake brownies as a kid, which is probably why they’re my favourite thing to make today! When I’m not thinking about making pie, I love to draw, play D&D, video games, and learn new languages :]
Aurora Wang
Media Artist
Hi! My name is Aurora and I am the secretary on the Benevolent Bakers team. I first started baking egg free recipes when I was 9 (after a disaster that occured when trying to crack an egg) and I like testing out all sorts of recipes! Apart from baking, I like spending time with family, reading and sleeping!
Julia Fu
Founder & Co-President
Hey everyone! My name is Julia, and I’m one of the three co-founders of Benevolent Bakers. As a huge food lover, I started baking and cooking around two years ago. My hobby began to grow after I took a cooking class in school last year, where I was able to explore the art of homemade goods. When I’m not baking, I can be found snowboarding (or skateboarding in the summer!), practicing karate, drawing, gardening, or exploring the world around me!
Caroyln Zeng
Founder & Co-President
Hi there! I’m Carolyn, and one third of the Benevolent Bakers founders. I started baking around 5 years ago when asked to make tiramisu for a party, and continued it as a hobby since then. Even though I love baking, I’m not a big fan of sweets, which is why I have friends who’ll eat my creations for me. Besides baking, I enjoy making art (everything from digital to charcoal), writing, dance, music, and going on adventures.
Nicole Sun
Founder & Co-President
My name is Nicole and I'm one of the co-founders of Benevolent Bakers. Honestly, I don’t remember when I started baking but I know that I was inspired to bake from watching cool cake-making videos on YouTube. I like baking because I get to eat what I make at the very end. Aside from baking, I love playing volleyball, doing digital art, sleeping, playing games and watching Netflix.
